Martin Luther King, Jr and Diversity & Inclusion Resources

By Matilda Fletcher

This month we celebrate Black History Month and now we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a national holiday and every year in January. We know him as a respected and important leader in the civil rights movement. It was a long journey for Coretta Scott King to get his name to this level of fame and honor. She spoke about leadership, and fills those requirements, in this video.

This video is King’s I have a dream speech. It is his most famous speech and has been called the best speech ever in the English language. His speech shows how we got social justice in our world today and how much more work we still need to do.

An interview of MLK in San Francisco on Meet the Press. It shows how issues from the past are still issues now, even after 55 years. It also shows how controversial his ideas were when he was alive, and how we now see them as normal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7Y8Q9nSK5A&feature=emb_logo
